safeguarding and other British Triathlon Federation policies
Safeguarding
Like BTF, Windrush Triathlon Club believes everyone who participates in swim, bike, run is entitled to participate in an enjoyable and safe environment.
As such, the Club, its committee and coaches adhere to the following safeguarding policies and expect our members to do the same:
If you have any safeguarding concerns relating to any aspect of Windrush Triathlon Club activity, please contact the Welfare Officer via welfare@windrushtri.co.uk who will report all concerns to, and seek advice from, the BTF's lead safeguarding officer as per the BTF Safeguarding Procedures.
Alternatively, if you would rather report the concern directly to BTF, please follow this link to their safeguarding page and click “REPORT A CONCERN”.
Equality, Diversion and Inclusion
Windrush Triathlon Club, like BTF, aims to ensure triathlon is accessible and attractive to the widest audience. We are committed to the principle of equality of opportunity and aim to ensure that all present and potential participants, members, coaches and volunteers are treated fairly and are able to fulfill their potential within the sport, irrespective of sex, age, disability, race, religion or belief, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, marriage and civil partnership, gender reassignment or social status. We therefore adhere to the principles laid out in the BTF Equality and Diversity Policy.
Anti-doping
The Club, committee, coaches and members all agree to abide by the Anti-Doping Rules of the BTF which are set by UK Anti-Doping.
Reporting COncerns
We have forms for reporting incidents and concerns linked here. If you are concerned for the safety of a child, young person or vulnerable adult at Windrush Triathlon Club, we’ve put together a flowchart advising what to do.
For more information, the BTF have provided advice aimed at young people for advice on where to turn if something doesn't seem right.
